MISSION STATEMENT
The Press Office has as its mission and objective , the timely and accurate dissemination of information on the policies and activities of the Government. It will keep the Belizean public informed on events, developments and issues of real importance to them and the country as a whole.

TERMS OF REFERENCE
The Press Relations Office will be the Government link with the media. It will provide information on policy developments and implementation as well as reports on policy issues. It will issue press releases, features, conduct interviews, arrange ministerial and other press conferences and accommodate journalists at official events.

The Press Relations Office, taking into consideration the Government's policy on the right of the public to be accurately informed about facts and events, as well as Government's policy of openness, will facilitate the channels of communication between Government and the people and the people and government.

SCOPE OF WORK

• The dissemination of information and deciding on the medium which should be used.

• The programming of public relations activities to improve the image of the various ministries.

• Conducting weekly reviews of the media to identify articles on the policies and activities of the government and to institute action where necessary.

• Provide feedback to the ministries on the attitude of the public to on - going and pending projects and activities.

• Coordination of Press Conferences for Government Officials.

• Operation of Government's audio/visual facilities.

• Operation and maintenance of the Government's Web Site.

• Operation and maintenance of the Government Information Technology System.
